American soprano
Anne Wright
has been praised for her "radiant and perfectly controlled soprano voice... created for the long lines of the great Richard Strauss roles." (Graz Kleine Zeitung).
This summer, Anne sang First Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute as an inaugural Renée Fleming Artist in the Aspen Opera Theater and VocalARTS program at the Aspen Music Festival and School.
Anne was a 2018/19 Hattie Mae Lesley Apprentice Artist at Fort Worth Opera, and has been a Marc and Eva Stern Fellow at SongFest in Los Angeles, sung in Marilyn Horne’s ‘The Song Continues’ master class and training program at Carnegie Hall, and was a Steans Institute Vocal Fellow at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago.
Anne was named first prizewinner of the 2014 Meistersinger Competition at AIMS in Graz, Austria. Later that year, she was invited to perform in recital at the Austrian Embassy in Washington, DC.
A native of Texas, she completed an Artist Diploma at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, where she sang Alice Ford (Falstaff), the title role in Suor Angelica, Micaëla (La Tragédie de Carmen), and Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream). She has sung in master classes with Larry Brownlee, John Corigliano, Jane Eaglen, Renée Fleming, Graham Johnson, Martin Katz, Felicity Lott, Malcolm Martineau, Jennifer Rowley, and Patrick Summers.
